No — it's more flexible than that. There's no long-term commitment, no employer relationship, and no formal qualification at the end. Think of it as paid shadowing: you book a day, you show up, you learn. You can book as many or as few days as you like.

No experience needed at all. Every listing shows the skill level required — many are marked as beginner-friendly. Just turn up with a willingness to learn, appropriate clothing, and a good attitude.

Day rates are set by the individual tradesman and typically range from $80 to $150 per day. The exact rate is shown on each listing before you book. There are no hidden fees.

Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty — sturdy trousers, a long-sleeved top, and steel-toe-capped boots if you have them. The tradesman will let you know if anything specific is required. Don't worry about tools — they'll have everything you need.

That depends on the tradesman and the job, but most tradesmen on our platform are here specifically to teach by doing. You'll be expected to get stuck in — carrying materials, assisting with tasks, and trying things yourself under supervision. It's not a spectator sport.

Yes. You can cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before the session for a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a partial charge. See our Terms & Conditions for full details.

All tradesmen on the platform are required to hold public liability insurance that covers learners on site. We also verify their trade credentials before they can list. That said, you should always follow the tradesman's safety instructions and wear appropriate PPE.

Head to the Teach & Earn page and fill in your details. We'll verify your trade credentials and insurance, then you'll be able to post your first job listing within 24–48 hours.

You set your own day rate — most tradesmen charge between $80 and $150 per learner per day. You keep the majority of that; we take a small platform fee to cover payment processing and platform costs. Full fee details are shown during sign-up.

Absolutely not. You post only the jobs you want to open up to learners. You're in full control — post when it suits you, take a break whenever you like. There's no minimum commitment.

Payment is collected upfront when the learner books. If they don't show up, you still get paid. We handle all the payment disputes so you can focus on your work.

You need to hold public liability insurance that covers third parties on your job site — which most working tradesmen already have. During sign-up we'll ask you to confirm your coverage. If you're unsure, speak to your insurer.

Most tradesmen tell us the opposite — having an extra pair of hands for carrying, fetching, and holding things actually speeds up the day. You'll spend a bit of time explaining what you're doing, but that's the deal. Many tradesmen say it also makes them sharper at their own craft.

Learners pay upfront through the platform when they book. Funds are held securely and released to the tradesman after the session is completed. We use Stripe for all payments — your card details are never stored on our servers.

Yes — we charge a small percentage fee to cover payment processing, platform maintenance, and support. The exact fee is shown transparently during sign-up and before you confirm any listing or booking. No surprises.
